Beams on photofiltre and pain.net

open this on paint.net and make it transparent

add a background and a pic make the pic
transparent

add color to the beam

now go to photofiltre
upload your picture
use the wand and click on the beam
go to stylize than go to
progressive counter
choose a color of glow
click outside
keep it 20 or 10
ta da
it turns out like this

Same here but I tried your way and when I hit define pattern and pattern it doesn't do anything.
